Trudy Navarro

Rose Hopman

Vice President

I am a Community Support Services Representative at High Plains Bank and have worked there since 2013. I have been a member of many different organizations and supported many causes and fundraising events in our Longmont community. Besides being on the El Comite’ board, I am currently involved in the Twin Peaks Rotary Club and Longmont’s Multicultural Action Committee. My husband, son and I have called Longmont our home since 1989. I enjoy supporting and being involved in the community I live in and believe that is the best way to make it stronger.

Becky Birkelo

Treasurer

Becky is a Colorado native and extremely proud of that fact. She moved to Longmont in 1986, her children graduated from Skyline High School, and she is still living in Longmont. She worked for the City of Longmont for 27 ½ years until retiring in 2016. Now, she is working as a “granny nanny” to two of her young grandsons. She has volunteered not only for El Comité filling out citizenship paperwork but also volunteered with another agency for English language instruction. El Comité allows her to use her leadership skills to remain active in the community for a cause that is near and dear to her heart. Becky started on the Board in March 2018–she was the Treasurer and became President of the Board in October 2020.

Sarah Levison

Secretary

Board member Sarah Levison has lived in Longmont for over 26 years. She served as the city council liaison to El Comite from 2007 to 2015 and now serves as a regular board member. Sarah strongly believes El Comite serves the community well and will continue to build bridges between the immigrant and Latino community and government and the community at large. Sarah invites everyone to get involved in our city and community by volunteering with El Comite.
